State and Federal Governments Engaged in Blatant Discrimination

discrimination

From the very beginning of the Stay at Home, Shelter in Place, Lockdown Orders imposed by the various state governments and local authorities, they have been engaged in discriminatory practices.  Where is the ACLU when you need them?  Governments determination of essential businesses and workers seems to be totally arbitrary.  Why is the auto mechanic essential and my barber not?  I need a haircut as badly as my car needs an oil change and more frequently.  Why is the grocery store clerk essential and the clothing store clerk not?  Why can I go to Costco or Sam's Club and find clothing there but I cannot go to JC Penney's or Macy's?  Why is the waiter at my favorite restaurant out of a job but the construction worker remodeling my neighbors house is not?  Why, Why, Why? We could go on and on with examples.  I am sure you can think of many.  There seems to be no logic or reasoning behind the decision as to who would be deprived of a livelihood and who would not.  Depriving me of my ability to support my family in a legal and fulfilling manner is totally contrary to the Declaration of Independence, "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."  While some States are lifting the restrictive orders they put in place, not all workers are being allowed to return to work.  One Mayor was heard to say, "you want to work, find an essential job."  Wait just a moment there Mr. Mayor.  I trained for years after getting a degree to have the job I had and now you want me to start at the bottom in some job for which I have no training and will pay less than what I was earning.  Get real. No, the simple truth is Government has acted irrationally and made arbitrary decisions in a moment of fear and panic.  Now instead of setting everything right they want to hide behind the fear and panic while continuing to make arbitrary and unjustified decisions.  It would pain them too much to admit they were wrong. End America's Lockdown and let us get back to work.

About the author

I enjoy writing for the internet. I have varied interests but my main interest is current affairs. I like to delve into the backstories and look at the data and the facts. I find it extremely disconcerting when people take news stories at face value without exercising critical thinking to determine if what is being said makes sense or if their are alternative views to be considered. I chose to develop this web site because I found the damage to America getting out of control as politicians and the media preyed upon the fear they had created in the public's mind.
