The organization responsible for havoc worldwide has now reversed course and has come out against lockdowns. In a recent announcement, the WHO has stated that lockdowns' economic impact is worse than the virus. Something we have been saying from the beginning. While making this statement, they take no responsibility for what has taken place. Instead, they seem to imply that the countries' governments were responsible for the damage inflicted on millions worldwide. But why have they come out with this statement now, when it was evident for so long lockdowns have numerous detrimental effects, not just adverse economic impact?
Could this portend some future announcement? Will they come out and confess their sin of blowing out of proportion the health impacts of SARS-CoV-2? Perhaps they will remain silent in confidence they have proven to themselves, and the organizations behind them, how easily world populations are manipulated into doing whatever they are told when in a state of fear.
There has been much talk in recent weeks about an additional stimulus package for the economy. When I hear these discussions, I have to ask myself, "how will a stimulus package help anyone while we remain in lockdown?" And, "does the government really believe they can buy my silence with a $1200 check while they give billions to corporations?" Do they believe I am so ignorant I do not know the money for both myself and the corporations will ultimately come out of my paycheck, my children's paychecks, and my grandchildren's paychecks?
The only way the economy can be stimulated into recovery is by opening everything up. Coming out and saying, "we know more people may succumb to SARS-CoV-2, but we will take every precaution to protect the vulnerable while allowing everyone willing and able to return to business as usual.
And what about these discussions about indemnifying different businesses against lawsuits if someone should contract SARS-CoV-2 in their establishment. It should be made clear to everyone; we are all aware of the risks of contracting SARS-CoV-2. So if you choose to enter an establishment, that is your choice, and you bear the consequences. Unless it is proven, the establishment was not following all existing controls required by the state and local health departments just as it has always been.
Schools should reopen at once and allow our children to get back to normal. What is happening now is ludicrous. Here, where I live, my granddaughter has chosen to return to school. I understood she would be going back to a somewhat typical classroom, with certain precautions in place. Other students decided to do virtual classes. The class is not close to typical. The students do the same virtual class as the students who remain at home. At school, the differences are a teacher who watches them like a babysitter while they are doing the class, and those at home can choose when it is convenient for them to take the virtual class. They may or may not have a babysitter or parent watching them during the class.
How ridiculous is this? Or maybe it is not. Perhaps teachers have been nothing more than glorified babysitters for years; given the quality of education children seem to have been receiving? I know there are good teachers out there, but their hands are tied by various educational organizations and the unions controlling them.
Let's get back to a normal life. Do our children and grandchildren not deserve to live normal lives instead of living in constant fear?
